Natalie has worked across a variety of roles in the arts and culture industry since 2019 when she took the leap to change careers. She received a distinction for her dissertation analysing the accessibility of book festivals for her master's degree in publishing at The University of Stirling. Her interests, skills, and experiences are wide-ranging.

‘Natalie Jayne Clark has been one of the most exciting regulars at Rock the Boat. On announcing she was going to be a feature at one of our upcoming nights, members of the audience genuinely gasped with excitement, and her set did not disappoint. No matter what topic Natalie turns her pen to, her writing is engaging, intimate and fresh. She has a keen eye for the most human of details: a pupil's mobile phone in a classroom, a stifling hospital room, the feeling of being a woman in a park at night. Her poems manage to capture these specific moments whilst still being unafraid to tackle difficult themes. She is a skilled storyteller who draws audiences in and brings her whole self to every performance. Whether making people laugh with her observations from teaching, or, holding her pace whilst diving into the nuances of childhood illness - the audience is both on her side, and in the palm of her hand. I can't wait to see where she takes us next!’
